SOMEThese stocks are NOT necessarily my"thing" but to me are "cheap" USING these great indicators a wise man has "enlightenened me" with.Let see how these look in 1 month 6 months ,a year. Each position will be liquidated after a 20% run up

USG : 35.27 Huge discount to WEB

BA:86.14 : will global demand for planes be lower in the future????

HD:24.97: You are getting it toa huge discount to Lou Simpson

USB:29.59:Cheaper than WEB last month

BNI:79.21 : You are getting it cheaper than WEB .

SLM:16.97

The anti stockdoc billytickets comes to the party but more tahn 60% cheaper.lol

PFE: 22.94 The dividend plus the strong financials make this stock at this price appealing

AXP:48.92 This stock is cheap historically and WEB owns a large chunk

KFT 31.90 Peltz and rosenfeld and the dividend are a great combo

Billy,

While I would agree with most of the above, I would note the following:

USG: All things explained in some of the postings, I would still be affraid to invest in a company that keeps going bankrupt. Hard to go against WEB, but I am not WEB and I'll let him make money in this one.

BA: Great company, wrong price and wrong time. I would be interested when the dividend goes closer to 2.5-3%.

HD: Great price. The problem here is why HD and not LOW? HD is cheaper, but have you shopped at LOW? I believe that while HD is cheaper than LOW now, in a recovery LOW will appreciate more because it has better stores and grows faster.

USB: Hard to go against WEB. I have USB. It is a good bank.

BNI: So much has been written about BNI here. Yet, I wouldn't invest unless I see a dividend closer to 2.5-3%.

SLM: I would agree that the price is low, but this company is at the mercy of politicians. We are talking that you have all the risks, plus the politicians.

PFE: I have this dog in my portfolio for many years. I am sure that the moment I sell it, it is going to start going up.

AXP: It is now at the same point I sold it a few years back. Great company. The question is, why would someone want to own it going into a recession. You'll see better prices.

KFT: Good that I sold it at 35. It could become a better company. I would buy again bellow 30.

Now, I would one more company:

SBUX: Remember MCD selling for 12 a few years back? That's when I bought it and I made a killing. Simillar situation now for SBUX. Hopefully, it won't go down to 12 before it goes up to 50...

Happy investing.

Value investor thank you for your input .Judging by your comments it is clear you are a REAL value investor and not some gambler"disgusied" as a value investor

I have been observing some "indicators" which have caused me to make these picks .As I have said before some opf these are just not my thing to personally buy but ALL have a "FAVORABLE REward to risk ratio " given my half a dozen indicators

USG i have a slight position in . this is my idea of "gambling". I do NOT believe this company could go bankrupt though

1) company has been around since 1901 and survived 22 % unemployment 18% fed fund rates and 2 world wars

2) the German company and WEB own a large stake

3) The stock is just so cheap and i watched it go from 6 to 100 like a whirlwind. There will be an eventual "short squeeze" IMO

BA: I agree with you that this stock"appears" that it could be bought "cheaper" .

But in today's global economy it is only a matter of time before some Soveriegn nation or some "country" decides to buy a stake in BA ,given how weak our dollar is and the fact is BA is a business with a fairly large moat. I don't think the price or timing is bad. Could it be cheaper? sure.

But as a Phil Fisher guy this stock is at a "fair" not cheap price and i think is a FRIEND of the future trend.

HD:Both companies have decent numbers .But my"indicators" say that HD at these levels is a "better play". I admit I have watched HD"longer" than LOW and have a better feel for it but like VOOCH knows I have resisted it all the way down.

But in a few weeks all the people who sold for tax losses can buy back in and while i do not see a housing "recovery" I do think this stock will not be "pummeled" like it was in 2007 and this stock should do well

USB: It isnt"cheap" like other financials and WEB is certainly a plus. this stock PAYS YOU ENOUGH to sit and wait. Did i say I HATE financials?lolIF i buy a bank it will be this one

BNI: THis stock at these levels is a NO BRAINER. Between gas prices,Coal prices and the HUGE MOAT you are just not goping get "Historic " LOws on this stock

If you wanted to duplicate the 29000 miles of track it would cost you about 3 million dollars a mile which is 87 billion. That does not include LAND,Infastructure,Treminals or GOODWILL. This sia another stock where the TREND IS YOUR FRIEND and the"numbers guys who want something dirt cheap will "miss this one". I have takena LARGE position in this stock

SLM : I just dont think if we have a democratic congress and president that this program will be a "goner". I agree TOTALLY with your assesment but this a a Classic"CIGAR BUTT" Graham play for me. i would personally NEVER buy this stock but the stock at these LEVELS ( not 37 dollars like someone said 5 weeks ago was the BEST stock in America for the price.lol) as you and I both agree is cheap

PFE: This stock "pays" you at these levels 'ENOUGH" to sit and wait.Key is will the "street' like the acquisition that they make??. This si anaother one where i think WEB could buy a stake at some point if he already hasnt

AXP: Well the question is are we going into a recession and how will the sub prime market affect "regular folk". This a company which has been around 157 years and key for me on this is did WEB and will WEB add to his stake at these levels? Iam not sure what percentage he is allowed to earn here

KFT : has limited upside but virtually no downside and a brighter future with direction at these levels another trip to 35 gives you OVER 15% annual return. I have a LARGE stake in KFT I got in the spinoff

SBUX : according to my indicators is VERY cheap it is clear you have done your homework. I dont like the fundamental business but I don't like SLM either.lol Of course if WEB bought in that would"change things" but I personally would not recommend this because of my BEARISH sentiment of sit down restaurants and as ana accountant how much i HATE the fundamentals of the business. I will admit my indicators" do LIKE SBUX at these levels though WISE pick my friend

I appreciate ALL the feedback.OTHERS feel free to comment .ONE way or another.Value Investor put 2 more stocks LOW and SBUX ON MY radar SCREEN with his compelling Intelligent post. EVERYONE feel free to post >Positively or negatively.peace

From a pure chart point of View.

If you are long, hold current position. Do not initiate new position.
Stock is Not a Short Sell Candidate.Stock shows Mildly Deteriorating Conditions
Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD) indicates a Bearish Trend.
Chart pattern indicates a Possible Trend Reversal.
Relative Strength is Bullish.
Up/Down volume pattern indicates that the stock is under Distribution.
The 50 day Moving Average is rising which is Bullish.
The 200 day Moving Average is rising which is Bullish.
Price is under Support of 66.07 which is Bearish.
Watch for resistance at 69.93 Chart info as of week end 1-04-2007

Dec 13th earnings beat by 15.7% and the stock is in retreat...they report next march , this is why April options are strong above 60 for calls conversly there are stronger put optins in april that outway the potentail upside.... The Feb options action is very low accross the board meaning the pros are in a wait and see pos. To many maybes here for me....IMHO

Fundamentaly they are in a If"y sector and have a fair balance sheet 12% ROE....

How much competition is Sam's Club to Costco? Here in Canada there are few Sam's but Costco's are in most retail centers. I assume Sam's has a larger presence in the US.
